Hello, I'm James!
I'm currently a Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter (Research Assistant) at Philipps-Universität Marburg, where my mentor is Prof. Dr. Sönke Rollenske. My main research interests are in algebraic geometry and mirror symmetry.
Before this (2021 -- 2025) I was a doctoral researcher at Loughborough University, supervised by Dr. Alan Thompson. My thesis was entitled "Tyurin Degenerations of K3 Surfaces".
Prior to that (2017 -- 2021) I was an MMath student at the University of Warwick and my dissertation, titled "A full exceptional sequence in Db(Coh(Pn)) ", was supervised by Dr. Christian Böhning.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing the saxophone and various other musical instruments. I am also a keen quiz enthusiast with a love for logic puzzles.
